Weird and Wonderful Initial Ideas

The genres I have enjoyed so far in Photography include portraiture, landscape, and still life. I have been inspired by the work of Tim Walker, Rosie Anne Prosser, and Vanessa Petri (Also known as Fairyland Photography)

I am inspired by Tim Walker as I feel his photography is quite unusual and because he has done quite a lot of fairy-tale themed photography.

I have been inspired by Rosie Anne Prosser as I think that she has an amazing photography style. Her work is simple but unique and her style is something that I want to try and incorporate into my photography.

I have been inspired by Ian Kormac as I think that his work is very imaginative and different. His use of surrealism is something that I’d like to experiment with.

I have been inspired by Vanessa Petri (Also known as Fairyland Photography), as I think that her photography and photo editing skills are extremely good. She has made her own business my taking family portraits and editing them onto and into different and magical worlds. This is something that I would really like to try and do for my weird and wonderful photography project.

For the weird and wonderful project, I intend to follow the theme of escapism, books, and fairy tales. This includes things such as fairies, magic, witches, etc. I have chosen this theme as I have always loved books and reading. I think that the idea of escapism, which is escaping or avoiding reality and everyday life and everyday situations by daydreaming and other types of entertainment or distractions such as reading, writing, sleeping, watching TV, and many other things, is very interesting and something that I want to explore and experiment with further through photography. Through books, reading, daydreaming, etc., you can be in another world, have a completely different life, or be another person, which is one of the reasons why I love reading.

For my weird and wonderful project, I want to show the worlds within these books. The main things that I want to focus on are ideas such as surrealism, fairies, and magic. I want to use a mixture of the genres still life, landscape, and portraiture to achieve my photos. I think that these focuses, genres, and themes will hopefully make the finished product look very good and effective.
