Still Life Photography

Still life photography is where the subject of the photo is an inanimate object. Usually it is a small grouping or collection of objects. It gives the photographer more freedom in the arrangement or setup of design in the photograph. It is mostly used in advertising.


Jonathan Knowles
Jonathan Knowles is a photographer who specialises in graphic still life. He is based in London. 
With his photography, has achieved national and international advertising commissions and works with agencies worldwide.
He has constantly been featured in the '200 Best Advertising Photographers in the World' for the past 8 years. Knowles has had images included in the last 4 volumes of '100 Best in Photography' and is one of the top 10 all time award winners in the Graphis Annuals.




















Stanislav Aristov
Stanislav Aristov (aka: Pol Tergejst), is a 30 year old photographer from Ekaterinburg in Russia. He has experimented with quite unusual photography, including taking photos of pears in weird or realistic scenarios. Aristov said that he wanted the images to be 'realistic and human-like'. He has also used burned matchsticks (and some photoshop) to create images such as apples and airplanes from the match, fire, or smoke.

















Horacio Salinas

Horacio Salinas is a conceptual artist born in New York. He regularly contributes to the New York Times Magazine. He uses objects that would not usually go together, or uses an object in a different way to
